Depart from Rome to discover Umbria, a land of olive groves and medieval villages. A minivan will pick you up from your hotel in Rome and take you to Assisi, the birthplace of Saint Francis. Visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, where you can admire the Porziuncola, one of the most sacred sites in Franciscanism. With your local guide, visit the Basilica of Santa Chiara, which houses the saint’s remains, explore the historic center of Assisi, and finally visit the Basilica of San Francesco, one of the most important sites in Christianity. Together with your tour assistant, you will also visit the church that preserves the body of Blessed Carlo Acutis.

In the afternoon, the tour continues to Orvieto, famous for its Gothic Duomo, which you will also visit inside. Finally, descend into the evocative Pozzo di San Patrizio, a 16th-century engineering masterpiece, 54 meters deep, with its double spiral staircase. Return to Rome is scheduled for the late afternoon.
